Welcome to the Connecticut Tour des Farms Website
The Tour des Farms is a project of the Eastern Connecticut and King’s Mark Resource Conservation and Development Councils (RC&Ds). Since 2003, these bicycle rides have toured the beautiful agricultural countryside of Connecticut, raising money and awareness for the diversity and vitality of Connecticut’s farms.
Last year Eastern Connecticut's ride saw nearly 100 riders and volunteers around the beautiful hills and orchards of South Glastonbury, sampling berries, apples, pumpkins, and delicious pies and ice cream. That ride raised enough to make a donation of $3000 to the Working Lands Alliance, a farmland advocacy program of the American Farmland Trust.
The King’s Mark ride in Guilford highlighted the community’s energetic support of agriculture and hosted over 100 riders.
This year, the Tour will have two more rides. On Saturday, September 20, 2008, Eastern CT RC&D will host its ride through the beautiful farms of Simsbury,CT. The following week, on September 27, 2008 King's Mark RC&D will hold its ride in Shelton, CT. Please click Register to find out more about this year’s rides. The levels of sponsorship are detailed on the Support page. Because of the need to prepare t-shirts and other promotional materials, including our press releases and feature stories for television/radio/newspaper outlets, the window of opportunity for sponsorship of this year’s ride will be open from May 1 – July 18, 2008.
